Father's And Sons- July 8, 2011

It was our ward Father's and Sons.  This year... My dad took me, and Derek took Brogden.  We got there and dad made a delicious dinner.. from the dutch oven, his first time.  It was fun being with all the guys.  It was fun being with my dad and brother.  It made me feel special to think that I could go and though It is harder with me, it is so worth the extra time and energy it takes to take me along.  Thanks dad.  I will always remember it.

My country Tis of Thee.. Sweet land of Liberty!

We had a great 4th of July... We had our annual grilling picnic, croquet game and fireworks!  Adam brought some of his college friends over, because Mom and Dad made a lot of food.  We grilled steaks.  We played croquet.. Do you know how long it takes to play with 11 people??? A VERY LONG TIME.  We started when it was very light outside, and ended after it got dark! This year.. My dad won... Matt and I came in 2nd and my mom came in 3rd.  Everyone else got out in between.  Derek and Katie were there, along with Kalynn.  When it came down to the last few people, I told Matt that I didn't want to get my parents out first... and since Matt was on my team,.. he went after other people.  Then in the end... I we went out front and lit up fireworks while we ate mud pie.. that is also a tradition.  Also, Kalynn making rice crispy squares is another tradition.  Yep.. the 4th of July is a fun tradition.

Kalynn, me and Matt.. Kalynn what a pose!

Adam's college friends.. they always seemed to be trailing us all.  Adam set up the course and he put the hooks around the edges of the cement and when your ball would get near it.. it always seemed to travel across the cement and into a bush or something... It was a frustrating course, which is one reason it took so long!

Katie and Brogden with the sparklers

The fireworks... we thought they would be Bigger and Higher but they were small and close to the ground... Never buy in a large package.. they rip you off!

Matt and me, he is getting ready to light a firework

Tank wars...

Derek, Katie and Brogden.. Notice the necklaces.. getting into the spirit of the holiday!

Adam and his friends dancing in the streets while doing their sparklers... CRAZY!!!

Me, Matt, Kalynn and Dad.  Matt is waiting for bugs to fly in his mouth... Yum... And dad is so happy that he blinks!  Great picture guys!

Bear Lake = Family Trip = Family memories

For our family trip this year, my mom decided that it would be so much fun to go to Bear Lake.  Melissa and Nolan suggested it, and Mom liked it and jumped on it.  We rented a cabin, which really was a house.  It was suppose to be over looking the Lake, which we thought was "over looking the lake" but in reality it was on the TOP of the mountain, REALLY over looking the Lake!  Everyone in the family got to go.  There was a room for all the married brother and sisters, and I roomed with Adam and Matt.  (Kalynn's Boyfriend, Matt went with us too.)  We went to the Lake three days and on the 4th day, we spent it doing things at the house.  The guys went golfing, but I didn't go to that.  Then I got to go fishing!  I caught 4 fish!  I know.. unbelievable.. because I rarely catch any fish... but I did!  My mom wanted pictures of the fish I caught, so Dad took 4 pictures of the 1 fish that I caught, but really I did catch 4 fish!  It was a really fun time.  I'm so glad that I got to go with my family.  It was awesome.

Dance Extravaganza May 27, 2011

Every year, the School I go to, puts on a "Dance Extravaganza".  We had them when I went to Elementary school in St. George.  But they still do it here.  I really don't know if I enjoy them or not.. I"m mean, really... I did them in elementary.... and I truly did NOT want to do it this year.  But I did anyways.  There's not much I can do to protest, you know??  They dressed me up in a suit.. heavy duty style and put a hat on me.  I was suppose to be " Mr. Banks" from Mary Poppins.  Then we danced (wheeled) in circles and ended up flying kites.  The ONLY way I would do any of this, is if my kite said BYU on it.  But I still didn't like the idea.  But my mom insisted that I do it, and so I did.  The kites fell down from the top of the school building, and they put the string in my hands, and it looked like I was flying them.  Actually that was pretty cool!   All I can say, is that when it was over... I was MUCH happier!

This is my mom and me with the BYU kite.  Pretty cool.. But I can't figure how to change the angle of the picture.. so sorry!  Silly blog!

Fishing Day May 12, 2011 @ Dan Peterson

We had our annual "Fishing Day" at school.  My teacher Jean, has this wonderful secluded spot in Payson, or somewhere near it.  It's a wonderful pond, and is great because it is wheelchair assessable.  It is shaded in some spots and it is great fishing.  My mom wanted to find out where it was, so she sent my home helper, Rory Eyring to school with me.  He was assigned to stay the whole day with me.  We had a lot of fun.  Rory loved the spot.  We caught two fish, and just when we were about to catch more, they came and told us that 2 was our limits.  We didn't know!  My mom told Rory to take them home... she's not a fish person.  The fish were huge... check out the picture!  Also, there is a girl in my class that has a pushchair.  They put me in it, to see if I would like it.  I really liked it.  I relaxed really well, and it was very comfortable.  I'm hoping that for Christmas this year, maybe I can get one.  It's a chair that goes in hard to reach places, like trails and rough roads.  I had a really fun time fishing.  Every year, we also get these baseball hats that say, "fishing day" on them.  So my hat collection is growing.  I like hats...

Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas everyone!  I had a really wonderful holiday, considering that I became sick with a bad cold the first day of Christmas vacation!  It took almost the whole vacation to get over it.  I had a wonderful time.  Most of my brothers and sisters were at the in-laws this year, so it was just Mom, Dad, Kalynn and me.  We talked to Adam on the phone on Christmas eve, so we didn't have to get up extra early to do that, and we had a very leisurely day.  For Christmas, I got a fishing pole from Melissa and Nolan, with all the works to go with it; I got a Wii from Santa ( if you don't believe in Santa, that's just one less present that you get... so I still believe!)  and games to play.  I got clothes from my parents, and Kalynn gave me a temple recommend holder.  It's cool with a picture of Christ on it.

It was a wonderful day, and we spent a lot of time hanging out with each other, and playing games.  It was a great day!
